Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior Follow the Scent of Opportunity:

"Perfume today has lost its soul. It is much to be mass marketed and, lacking in personality."


That was Michael Burke, Chairman and Chief Executive of Louis Vuitton, spoke last month about why a 70-year hiatus, the French luxury house has a high-profile return to the global fine fragrance market quietly plotting.

"We have a great growth opportunity seen to offer artisanal fragrance that used to back the possibilities listens designed and purchased," he said. "But that does things the right way and the right way takes time to do."


It also takes obviously a new home base in Grasse, a picturesque town nestled in fields of roses, lavender, jasmine and tuberose in the sun-drenched hills above the French Riviera - and the perfume capital of the world.

UK Generation Y male fashion consciousness

Purpose:

- As social theorists propose that there is an increasing social and economic pressures on the people has to be fashion consumers, sets the paper to examine the record to examine by trendiness of Generation Y male consumers.

Design / methodology / approach:

- Data were collected from a survey of 346 male respondents between 18 to 25 in age who completed a questionnaire trendiness that analyzes then factor was.
New Genration

Results:

- Relatively high fashion consciousness were found, but adoption is not necessarily fashion. Factor analysis showed that men see fashion in very simple words, and there is still a strong "anti-fashion" dimension for the average young male consumers.


Research limitations / implications:

- Building on the field of psychology and sociology, it is argued that "anti-fashion" fashion the distinction creates necessary for men to provide consumer an acceptable male practice.

Practical implications:

- The "anti-fashion" Motivation is of interest to marketers and provides a foundation for retail and branding approaches planning. The key to fashion marketing would show for men, such as clothing, could overcome some of these fears, for example, earn or achieve not enough.


Originality / value:

- Being such a nascent potential market segment there are no empirical studies that specifically focus on the male generation Ys.

This article criticizes the concepts of "ethnic dress" and "world-mode", together with the general impression that it is dominated by only a world-mode system from the west. A new framework based on micro-crops, and macro-cultures may enable us to identify non-western fashion systems that have a global reach. For example, Asia, Africa and Islamic clothing appeal to consumers in several
countries and not just "ethnic dress" should be considered. This article then goes on similarities between the Islamic fashion websites to analyze an example of a non-Western world fashion system.
